The fresh turmeric, ginger, spices and lemon juice in this recipe will boost your immune system and help you to fight viruses naturally. You can try making an extra large batch of this tea, letting the ingredients infuse while it simmers, and keep it in a large mason jar in the fridge to keep your immune system working like a fine-tuned machine all week. Just reheat it, add a squeeze of lemon and enjoy!
Ingredients

1 piece fresh ginger, about 2 inches (5 cm), sliced

¼ tsp ground turmeric (or 1 tsp fresh grated turmeric)

2 cloves

1 cinnamon stick

3 to 4 grains whole black pepper

Seeds from 4 cardamom pods

2 star anise

2 tsp black tea like English Breakfast or elderflower

2 cups water

Juice of 1/2 lemon (or more if desired)

A drizzle of maple syrup (optional)
Directions
Put all the ingredients in a large saucepan except for lemon juice and maple syrup.
Bring to a boil 30 seconds, then turn down heat and let simmer 15 minutes.
Strain out whole spices, add lemon juice and maple syrup if using.
